This one-day course introduces trainees to core surgical techniques and clinical skills in a safe and structured workshop environment. The course is directly aligned to the RCOG Training Portfolio and OSATS and focuses on the development of hands-on skills including:
Instrument handling
Knot tying and suturing
Hysteroscopy
Perineal repair
Coil insertion and cervical smear
Laparoscopy
Opening and closing abdomen
Uterine evacuation
Minor procedures: cervical smear, insertion of coil and word catheter
Learning objectives and who should attend
By attending this course, you will:
Learn and practise the basic operative skills required for Tier 1 and progression to Tier 2 working
Sign off elements in the RCOG Training Portfolio Logbook and OSATS
Complete the mandatory requirements for ST3
