An Update on Infections During Pregnancy

Course overview

A number of pathogens can infect pregnant women and can harm the fetus or lead to the loss of the pregnancy. The burden of some of these infections, such as congenital CMV, is high and the consequences far reaching.  The current knowledge and awareness of the screening, prevention and treatment of some of these infections among healthcare professionals is variable and sometimes outdated. Furthermore, the practice and recommendations in this field are constantly changing, e.g. pertussis vaccine in pregnancy.

This one-day course is aimed at obstetricians, sonographers, neonatologists, midwives, GPs and trainees. The programme will provide a comprehensive update including screening, diagnosis, prevention, complications and treatment. All sessions will have dedicated time for audience interaction.
