International Women's Day

Tackling stigma in women’s health services

9 March 2023

Online

3.00pm - 6.00pm, UK Time

Course overview

This event is fully booked. The recording of the event will be available to view shortly via the RCOG website.

The aim of this event is to open up dialogue amongst women’s health stakeholders to look at the impacts and most importantly the solutions to addressing stigma experienced in women’s health services.

Stigma affects almost all women’s  health issues including abortion and contraception, menstruation, maternity, many gynaecological conditions such as abnormal uterine bleeding, fistula, infertility, incontinence and many others. Healthcare professionals tend to care deeply about the people and communities they serve, and are in a unique position to see, challenge and address stigma.

By making stigma more visible, we hope to enable Fellows, Members, Associates and other healthcare stakeholders to anticipate, plan for and address stigmatisation.
