Find guidance on author details, author order, presenting authors and the permissions required for abstract submission.

Who should be listed as an author?

All individuals who meet the appropriate criteria for authorship should be included.

Please enter the names and affiliations of all authors exactly as you wish them to appear in the conference programme and, where applicable, the BJOG online supplement.

In what order should authors be listed?

Authors should be entered in the order in which you want them to appear in the final conference programme.

Please check the spelling and order of all authors carefully before submitting.

Can I add an author after submitting my abstract?

Yes. You can amend your submission and add or remove authors up until the submission deadline by logging back into the Oxford Abstracts portal.

Once the submission deadline has passed, no further changes can be made.

Can I change the order of authors?

Yes. Author order can be changed up until the submission deadline.

Can I add an author after the submission deadline?

No. Once the submission deadline has passed, authors cannot be added or removed.

Can someone who is not a named author present my abstract?

No. Only authors named on the submitted abstract are permitted to present the work.

Does the presenting author need to be the first author?

Not necessarily. The presenting author must be one of the authors named on the submitted abstract.

Do all authors need to give permission for the submission?

Yes. The submitting author must ensure that all authors have given permission for the abstract to be submitted.

Where applicable, appropriate patient permission must also be obtained.

Are there any professional declarations?

All authors will be asked to confirm that:

  • Their name is not currently removed from a medical register.
  • They do not have restrictions placed against their name by a medical regulator in any country.

Presenting authors must inform the RCOG if their registration status changes before the conference.

The RCOG reserves the right to withdraw presentations in such circumstances.
