Learning objectives

  • Enhance understanding of fetal morbidity and complex pregnancies
  • Gain insight and understanding of how high risk pregnancy services should be developed across secondary and tertiary care providers
  • Expand your knowledge of maternal morbidity (psychiatric illness, substance abuse, BMI) including identification, management strategies and interventions to mitigate risks
  • Acquire the knowledge to effectively manage fetal structural and genetic anomalies including diagnostic approaches, counselling strategies and therapeutic interventions
  • Develop a solid theoretical foundation in fetal therapy (fetal anaemia, complex multiple pregnancy, fetal surgery) including therapeutic modalities, their indications, limitations and ethical considerations
  • Fulfill the requirements for subspecialist training in Maternal and Fetal Medicine and meet the criteria for ATSMs in Fetal Medicine or High-Risk Pregnancy

  • All clinician involved in the diagnosis, management and counselling of fetal anomalies and antenatal high risk obstetrics
