Learning objectives

  • Enhance understanding of fetal morbidity and complex pregnancies
  • Learn how to develop and integrate high-risk pregnancy services across secondary and tertiary care settings
  • Expand knowledge of maternal morbidity, including psychiatric illness, substance use and high BMI, with a focus on identification, management and risk reduction strategies
  • Gain expertise in managing fetal structural and genetic anomalies, covering diagnostic approaches, counselling strategies and therapeutic interventions
  • Develop a solid theoretical foundation in fetal therapy (fetal anaemia, complex multiple pregnancy, fetal surgery) including advanced fetal Doppler monitoring, therapeutic modalities, their indications, limitations and ethical considerations
  • Fulfill the requirements for subspecialist training in maternal and fetal Medicine and meet the criteria for ATSMs in Fetal Medicine or High-Risk Pregnancy
  • Develop key knowledge to support successful completion of SITMs in Preterm Birth and Fetal Care
