A green conference

We recognise that conference themselves carry a significant carbon cost and have not taken lightly the decision to make this a fully in-person event.

This is the first event of its kind in maternity and it signals a commitment from the RCOG and RCM as to how we would to see our members working in the future. This will be an opportunity to gather innovators, decision makers and early adopters together in one room to share the future direction of sustainable maternity care.

We are doing everything we can to make the event as sustainable as possible, including:

  • Holding the event at the RCOG's Union Street building where we have transitioned to 100% clean energy
  • Designing the conference programme to run from 10.00am-4.45pm to reduce the need for overnight stays
  • A plant-based menu with no disposable plates and cutlery
  • No printed conference booklets - information will be available ahead of the day in electronic format
  • No plastic giveaways

We ask you support us in this aim by:

  • Travelling by public transport or lift share wherever possible (please avoid air travel to this event unless absolutely necessary)
  • Bringing your own refillable water bottle and/or reusable cup
