Local Organising Committee

Kat Barton

Co-chair | Local Organising Committee

I first got involved with the College back in 2019 as the trainee regional representative for Yorkshire & Humber. I later became the Vice Chair for Strategy and became the Chair of NTC in January 2024. I became more involved with the RCOG because I wanted to help advance training for trainees and ensure the opportunities were widely available to all trainees. Outside of work I enjoy the outdoors and can be found climbing and mountain biking!

In my role as your chair, I report to the RCOG Council, which is led by the RCOG President. This is where all of the main business of the College is discussed and agreed, and all committees ultimately report into Council. As well as chairing the National Trainees Committee, I attend the Education Board, Specialty Education Assurance Committee (SEAC), Finance & General Purpose committee and RCOG Council. This gives me a unique perspective in that I have a solid understanding of how the RCOG is structured and functions, as well as the College’s overall aims.

Kulthoum Taylor

Workshop Lead | Local Organising Committee

My name is Kulthoum Taylor. I am an ST6 trainee currently at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust where I have been appointed as a Senior Trainee Representative and Associate Specialty Education Lead. Alongside being a local organising committee member for the RCOG NTC 2026, I have also been recently elected as the West Yorkshire Trainee representative. I am very fortunate to have been chosen to be the voice for trainees both locally and regionally as this allows me to empower the future doctors in training within RCOG. I am eager to contribute to the successful organising and execution of this important event especially when it is being held in Yorkshire where I have practiced all my training so far.
